Celebrate Black History Month

Every American president, since 1976, has proclaimed February to be Black History Month, along with a designated theme. The theme for Black History Month 2023 has been decided to be "Black Resistance." It signifies the historic and ongoing oppression the African American community has endured and fought against. The African American community has overcome racial segregation and racial terrorism, to this day they still fight against racial slurs and discrimination.

It is the goal of the City of Lake Wales to ensure that the services we provide are as accessible for individuals with disabilities as they are for individuals without disabilities. The City of Lake Wales is working diligently to ensure our electronic documents, forms, and web page content meet or exceed the WCAG 2. 0 Level AA and federally mandated accessibility standards.
