Juneteenth

Today, Juneteenth, is an annual federal holiday commemorating the end of slavery. It observes the freedom of African Americans and emphasizes education and achievement. In 2021, Congress passed the legislation making Juneteenth the first new federal holiday created in nearly four decades. 

It is the goal of the City of Lake Wales to ensure that the services we provide are as accessible for individuals with disabilities as they are for individuals without disabilities. The City of Lake Wales is working diligently to ensure our electronic documents, forms, and web page content meet or exceed the WCAG 2. 0 Level AA and federally mandated accessibility standards.
