Property owners, renters and businesses may participate in FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program

City Administration Posted on April 19, 2024

Property owners, renters and businesses in flood hazard areas may participate in FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). In preparation for hurricane season, City staff worked diligently with the State’s Division of Emergency Management to ensure the City’s Floodplain Management Program complies with State guidelines.

So, what does this all mean? FEMA’s program helps participants recover faster when floodwaters recede. There is a cost associated with NFIP. For more information, visit: https://www.fema.gov/flood-insurance
