Open House - Ridge Scenic Hwy Connector Trail

City Administration Posted on January 05, 2026

The City of Lake Wales is proposing to increase pedestrian accessibility and improve shared-use path connectivity to the Rails to Trails trailhead.

The proposed new shared-use path project begins at the E. Central Avenue parking lot trail head and will follow N. 3rd Street until connecting to N. 3rd Street trail at E. Park Avenue. The trail section between E. Park Avenue and Sessoms Avenue is a separate project under design by DCCM. The project will pick up and continue north along N. 3rd Street just north of E. Sessoms Avenue until turning west at Seminole Avenue. The trail will continue along Seminole Avenue and then meander through the City of Lake Wales Public Works property where it terminates at the existing Rails to Trails trailhead.

An open house for the project will be held at The Women’s Club at 275 E. Park Avenue in Lake Wales on Wednesday, January 7th, 2026 from 4 to 6pm.

If you have any further questions or comments regarding the project, please contact me at sglutton@lakewalesfl.gov or (863) 678-4182 Ext. 1336.
