Yard preparation before a hurricane

Please do not cut back trees or do major yard work, as debris left at the curb may not be collected before the hurricane makes landfall. Yard debris may become projectile items during a storm. It's recommended to complete all major trimming of trees prior to June 1, the beginning of hurricane season. The cutting of trees during a storm watch or warning period places a tremendous burden on neighboring citizens and the collection company.

It is the goal of the City of Lake Wales to ensure that the services we provide are as accessible for individuals with disabilities as they are for individuals without disabilities.
