The City of Lake Wales Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) was recognized with two awards at the 2025 Florida Redevelopment Association (FRA) Annual Conference and Awards reception earlier this month: Capital Projects/Infrastructure for a Small City for the Park Avenue & Market Plaza Redesign Project and the 2024 CRA Annual Report for a Small City.
“We are honored to receive recognition from the Florida Redevelopment Association, a reflection of our steadfast commitment to revitalizing and enhancing our community. These awards celebrate the dedication of our leadership, staff, and residents in shaping a vibrant future for Lake Wales. Through strategic redevelopment and collaborative innovation, we will continue to transform our city into a place where opportunity flourishes and quality of life thrives,” Deena Drumgo, assistant city manager said.
This year, nineteen awards were presented, celebrating a diverse array of innovative projects and initiatives led by CRAs throughout the state.
The FRA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting Florida’s community redevelopment professionals and volunteers, annually presents the Roy F. Kenzie Awards to honor excellence across a range of categories, including rehabilitation, renovation, cultural enrichment, housing, and management programs.
