City of Lake Wales proclaims Lady Highlander Volleyball Recognition Day, Nov. 15, 2022

Earlier this week, Mayor Hilligoss presented a proclamation to the Lake Wales High School Volleyball Team. The team ranked #1 in the Region 5A District 6. Lily Weaver, one of the players won the Player of the Year for Region 5A District 6. Lillian Anderson won Coach of the Year for the Region 5A District 6.

WHEREAS, the Lady Highlander Volleyball Team is Ranked #1 in the Region 5A District 6; and

WHEREAS, Lily Weaver, one of the players won the Player of the Year for Region 5A District 6; and

WHEREAS, Lillian Anderson won Coach of the Year for the Region 5A District 6; and

WHEREAS, for the first time in 22 years the Lady Highlander Volleyball Team has won Districts; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Highlander Volleyball Team’s record was 14-5 the best record in over ten years.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Jack Hilligoss, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Lake Wales, in the State of Florida, do

hereby proclaim November 15, 2022 as LADY HIGHLANDER VOLLEYBALL TEAM RECOGNITION DAY and encourage citizens to congratulate the team and coach on their successful season.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Official Seal of the City of Lake Wales, Florida to be affixed this 15th day of November 2022.
