Kristen Fitzgerald reinstated to Lake Wales Commission

City Administration Posted on May 10, 2023

Governor Ron DeSantis reinstated Kristen Tieshia Fitzgerald as City Commissioner for the City of Lake Wales, Florida, Seat 4.

Governor DeSantis’ decision to revoke an Executive Order issued on July 7, 2021 to suspend Fitzgerald from her position as a city commissioner for the City of Lake Wales, Florida, Seat 4, came after Fitzgerald was acquitted on all charges of interference with the custody of a child.

City Manager James Slaton said, “Commissioner Fitzgerald will receive full back pay and other allowances to which she would have been entitled during the suspension.”

Fitzgerald replaces Daniel Krueger, who was elected to Commission Seat 4 on May 3, 2022.

The City has reached out to Fitzgerald notifying her of the governor’s decision.
